"Una boccata d'arte" per la ripartenza: venti artisti per venti borghi nel segno della bellezza

C’è la poesia del Lago d’Orta con l’isola di San Giulio che fluttua tra le fantasie di Rodari e l’Oracolo di Paolo Brambilla, come in un sogno a colori. E c’è la bellezza malinconica di Grizzana Morandi dove il grande pittore del Novecento trovò ispirazione e dove, nel Santuario di Montovolo, Massimo Uberti depone le sue Cinque e Dodici foglie. Non lontano da Grizzana, la chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta è l’unica opera italiana di Alvar Aalto, mentre leggenda e realtà si intrecciano in un luogo la cui storia affonda le radici tra testimonianze etrusche e resti romani. Una veduta aerea del Borgo di Orta San GiulioVenti borghi per venti artisti e una “boccata d’arte” che risuona come un respiro a pieni polmoni di ottimismo e di bellezza, una scintilla di ripresa culturale, turistica ed economica basata sull’incontro tra l’arte contemporanea e la bellezza di venti perle d’Italia. Nasce con questo spirito la prima edizione di Una boccata d’arte, il progetto d’arte contemporanea, diffuso e corale, a cura di Fondazione Elpis in collaborazione con Galleria Continua, la galleria fondata nel 1990 da Mario Cristiani, Lorenzo Fiaschi e Maurizio Rigillo, con l’obiettivo di dare continuità all’arte contemporanea in un paesaggio, come quello italiano, percorso da tracce antiche. Nel weekend del 12 e 13 settembre le installazioni artistiche di alcuni giovani talenti inaugurano in contemporanea in venti borghi italiani per consentire alla bellezza di ripartire dalla suggestione degli angoli più belli della penisola. Le opere rimarranno esposte fino all’11 ottobre 2020 offrendo una grande occasione di visibilità ai centri coinvolti, animati da interventi site-specific d’arte contemporanea, realizzati, per la maggior parte in esterni, tra incontri e confronti all’aria aperta rivolti a collezionisti, appassionati d’arte e operatori del settore, per incentivare il turismo di prossimità. D’altra parte la valorizzazione e la promozione delle forme espressive delle arti e della creatività contemporanee costituiscono una priorità per la Fondazione Elpis, nata nel 2020 per iniziativa dell’imprenditrice milanese Marina Nissim, con il preciso intento di supportare, nell’ ambito dell’arte contemporanea, il talento di giovani artisti emergenti provenienti da Paesi e culture diverse. E così la crisi globale causata dal Covid 19 ha spinto Marina Nissim, assieme alla Galleria Continua, a concentrarsi su un’ambiziosa iniziativa tutta italiana che vuole essere un segnale di ripartenza per la cultura artistica e dei territori. Costretti a posticipare l’evento, ci siamo trovati a parlare di come sarebbe stato il mondo dell’arte durante il lockdown, di chi ne avrebbe maggiormente subito le conseguenze. Il nostro pensiero è andato agli artisti, ma anche a quei borghi che sono l’anello debole di tutta questa difficile situazione. Abbiamo pensato che fosse importante dare un segnale subito, nonostante il periodo complesso”.Ma che cos’è che accomuna questi luoghi?”Abbiamo voluto scegliere luoghi non troppo noti – spiega Rigillo – ma importanti dal punto di vista storico-artistico, con i quali gli artisti potessero instaurare un dialogo profondo. Abbiamo preferito non assegnare gli artisti alle rispettive regioni di provenienza o di residenza. Si tratta di protagonisti diversi che operano in regioni diverse dalla loro terra di origine, in luoghi che ne hanno stimolato la ricerca”.Dal borgo di Santo Stefano di Sessanio, affacciato sul Gran Sasso – dove l’incursione artistica di Antonello Ghezzi è una grande tela-collage di infiniti blu, tempestata di stelle – alle esuberanti forme del barocco che incorniciano Ferla, piccolo centro della val di Noto, che, con Marta De Pascalis e Filippo Vogliazzo, riscopre il valore monumentale delle campane risvegliando i meccanismi della memoria, l’Italia si anima di un suggestivo dialogo tra antico e contemporaneo.Protagonisti del progetto saranno anche il borgo lucano di Pisticci, dominato dal suggestivo paesaggio dei Calanchi – che accoglierà l’invito alla lentezza di Sabrina Mezzaqui, che si sfilaccia nel vento sotto forma di bandierine colorate – e il sito archeologico calabrese di Soverato Vecchia, riscoperto da Matteo Nasini con l’ancestrale rito d’incubazione, o ancora la pittoresca Sant’Agata dei Goti, con i suoi piedi di tufo che affondano tra due affluenti del fiume Isclero e l’acquedotto Carolino Patrimonio Unesco. La boccata d’arte investe, grazie a Sabrina Melis, anche il borgo friulano di Sutrio, la cui tradizione locale, legata alla lavorazione del legno, è documentata già a partire dal 1700 tra cassettoni, tavolini, sedie e cassapanche fabbricate nelle botteghe artigiane per arredare le case dei nobili veneziani ed udinesi. L’artista Marta Spagnoli rivela invece i Felicia Munera, le bellezze che la sorte ha concesso in dono al borgo laziale di Ronciglione, Elena Mazzi guarda, nel centro ligure di Cervo, al legame imprescindibile tra l’uomo e il mare, Clarissa Baldassarri restituisce al borgo di Castellaro Lagusello – nell’estremità settentrionale della provincia di Mantova, al centro dell’imponente anfiteatro morenico gardesano – il riflesso del lago attraverso l’eco dei suoni.Castellaro Lagusello | Foto: © Simona FrigoAcquaviva Picena, nelle Marche, e il molisano Sepino, con il sito archeologico dell’antica città romana e il borgo medievale, dialogheranno rispettivamente con la Fiamma d’Amore Viva di Matteo Fato e con il rapporto tra storia e archeologia indagato da Francesco Pozzato, nel tentativo di dare voce ai vinti tramite l’archeologia e il racconto parziale dei vincitori.Alice Visentin, La Banda, 2020, olio su tela, 130 × 150 cm | Foto: © Matteo Defina | Courtesy l’artista Da Avise, il piccolo comune della Valle d’Aosta addossato alla gola di Pierre Taillée (dove Alice Visentin tesse il suo intervento che mira a riattivare la vitalità spontanea e condivisa dei luoghi tramite Il comizio, la merenda, il canto), Mezzano, in Trentino – tutta croci, orti, “stoli” e lisciaie (che guardano al linguaggio interdisciplinare di Luca Pozzi) – e Borgo Valbelluna (dove a intervenire sarà Bekhbaatar Enkhtur), il progetto corale della Fondazione Elpis e Galleria Continua scivola, con Bodies in Alliance di Marinella Senatore, fino al borgo di Volterra per insinuarsi tra i frantoi ipogei, i vicoli, le case a corte del borgo pugliese di Presicce, con la monumentale balena dell’artista Claudia Losi.
